Project Information

Hello all,

I made this Journeyman's chest a couple years ago when i graduated carpenter's school. Its all red oak and hand rubbed with a couple coats of watco danish oil. I forgot to grab a shot of the tool tray before I donated it but it had several compartments inside for small hand tools.

Joinery is pretty simple, dadoes in the carcass sides hold wood runners for the drawers to slide on. The door panels are held in by dadoes in the stiles and rails. The rails and stiles are pocket screwed together. Drawers are glued together at corners with a miter lock router bit I bought a while ago.

Being a newcomer I'd like to thank everyone for sharing their projects, methods, and tips. I've gotten re-inspired seeing everyone's work and should be posting more projects as I finish them!
