This was an island that a neighbor of ours wanted to have the top lengthened to acomidate some stools. The second picture is a before shot while the first and last picture is an after. She also wanted to enclose the sides and bottom to keep the dog hair out. I used a pine board from lowes and crosscut it in half, then edge glued it to get the width I needed. Then I wraped the exposed egdes in more pine to clean things up. The finish is butcher block oil since she said that they were going to use it as a food perp area. My neighbor seemed very pleased as was I… now my wife wants one!
