Peasants: “Oh, Mighty Zeus, the bananas are FAR too heavy to lift all by ourselves…......PLEASE Help us!”

Zeus: “Very well, Peasants…... RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!”

Okay, the above probably never happened. But it makes for a pretty cool story! Maybe not.

We needed something to keep the bottoms of our bananas from turning brown, which meant they needed to be elevated. We needed a banana hanger.

I was shaping the crook end of this piece and all of a sudden thought it kinda looked like the arm of an octopus. Then I actually tried to shape it into an arm of an octopus – I even picked a base that looked like waves breaking from it. Maybe? Maybe not?

It’s all made from solid cherry – finished with a quick wipe of mineral oil.

“The bananas must be delivered to the Kraken at the setting of the sun or else the Kraken will destroy all Joppa and everyone within the city.”

BTW, if you’ve never watched “Clash of the Titans”, you are probably pretty confused by now…......

Enjoy!

good design wife was just telling me yesterday we need one. Now an ordinary banana holder just won’t do.
