For the second project ive got my soon to be wife’s engagement present. The shadow box shes been asking for no less then 5+ years. It will be wall hung in the bedroom and have her 8 childhood “friend bear” care bears in it.

Its an oak wood/ Oak ply construction built with mitered corners for the actual “box” The Upper and lower Addition was glue and screw(pockets on the side u see) with some makeshift draws in the lower addition

It was finished with an early American Oak stain and a couple of coats of poly

Still to mount it to the wall due to laziness

Tell me what u think good/bad Its the only way i learn

The construction looks great!

Is that top part over the door storage? I was just curious about what motivated the design.

Top pieces function…Absolutely nothing—- I originally had one on the top and one on the bottom as sort of balance and trim but decided to put drawers in the bottom… never really thought i could take the top piece out
