This is a picture frame I made for a photo my sister took. We are donating it to a silent auction that friends of mine have for the past 14 years since loosing their son to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. They have raised almost half a million dollars so far and they give all the proceeds to under privelaged children and adults. The logo for the memorial fund has a monarch butterfly in it.

The frame is made from wood I got from my sister-in-laws father. I do not know what kind of wood it is. The inlay in the upper left corner is 3 pieces of wood laminated together and inlaid into the frame to accent the butterfly. Those pieces I bought from Woodcraft. There was about 10 strips of different woods all cut to 1/8” x 24”.

I don’t know why the first pic is upside down?

Very nicely done frame and really like the corner treatment. The photo is lovely and the cause a good one. Thanks for sharing.
