Finally finished this one… I’ve been working on it off & on since September – two kids makes for much less time in the shop.
This is another one of my projects that started as a simple idea, and grew out of hand. I wanted to make a quick & easy cupboard of some sort to “hide” the ever-increasing number of toys in our house. So I started out with a pocket-screw frame and plywood panel design.

That started to look really nice, so then I figured I might as well make the top from solid wood. That looked so much better than the plywood, that I decided to make the door panels from solid wood too. Got the doors made, and thought I’d practice my hand-planing on them (since it’s just a toy-box anyway). Finally finished, and now I wish I had used solid instead of ply on all the panels. Think I’m going to be using less & less ply in the future.

One of my favorite things about woodworking is that I can design a piece to fit exactly into an available space in my home, something I could never do with storebought furniture.
