This box has likely more diamonds then any girl will ever have .
I designed this box around my new diamond pattern which has an interesting appearance as the look changes depending on the viewing angle and lighting .
The box is made from red oak and walnut with solid brass hinges ,the lid stay is a ball chain that drops between the side and tray and I added a custom tray lift handle made from lace wood and maple .
The finish is oil to bring out the wood tones and several coats of satin lacquer followed by a bees wax polish for that soft sheen .
The dimensions are 12” W x 8 1/4” D x 4 1/2” H slightly larger then I normally size a box .
Thanks for taking a look and as always comments and critiques are always welcome .

Klaus

I really like this new style you have developed Klaus. I love the look of your diamonds boxes, first Class no matter how you look at it. Nicely done!

Very nice! The red oak came out way better than I would have expected. I enjoy your Creativity.

Klaus, that is outstanding. Beautifully detailed and simply amazing. I believe my diamonds would fit nicely in that box. Excellent cornering detail on the tray too. I just have to try and make one of these soon.

Love the look of the pyramids over a contrasting wood.

Nothing to not like here.
You are really on a roll with the diamonds …... rolling in diamonds you might say.
Each new one seems a bit more refined, an obvious member of the family but with its own personality.
I like this one a lot.

Thanks for posting.

AliiBaba and his 40 thieves are interested in your diamonds. Good to see you pushing the edges of making a box. :<)

Wow, this is really gorgeous!

I wish I had looked before posting my little box project. I would have never intentionally displayed my work next to yours. :-)

What Charlie said! You got to let the rest of us know how you did that. It’s a work of beauty.
