This is my first time working with cherry, I found it to be a joy to work with. These particular boards were from a single wild cherry tree. My uncle had stored these boards for about 10 years before he paid me in wood for a computer desk I built for him out of ceder.

Great looking mantel and hearth.

I would say you got a pretty good barter there with the cherry. Let me know if your uncle needs any more work done. I will take payment in wood any day.

Very nice job and looks great. Did you have mill the board are were they all ready mill for you.

Very sharp indeed. Cherry is one of my favorite woods.
