Cedar Sign. 48” wide X 42” high X 4.5” thick. Hand Carved
This sign is a prototype as I try to acquire a logo license from Harley Davidson. The sign is a prototype and not for sale.
Hoping to become a HD certified artist and produce hand carved, Harley signs and furniture.
If interested in seeing how it was made, I assembled a short video of the process – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2tMbIp0FpI

Thanks
Scott

Scott truly fantastic work really love it very impressed.
I have also gone that route and have HD projects here but HD got very jumpy and sent me some heavy emails. Heres a portion of one e-mail to give you an idea about producing Company Branded items, but good luck and hope you get more luck than me…...

From HD … You are not authorized to reproduce Harley-Davidson’s trademarks on products of any kind intended for sale, or to apply them in any manner, including through the use of decals, patches, or stickers, to products made by you or others and intended for sale. Trademarks are not merely “themes” or decorations; they are company-specific icons the chief legal function of which is to identify Harley-Davidson as the source of all products on which they appear.

Regards Barry.

Hey Barry. Thx! So did you go thru the application process? If so, can you tell me of your experience? I respect the infringement aspects of their logo and have specifically stated that the piece is not for sale. It is a prototype and part of my license application to Harley. I’m hoping they don’t have a problem with this. I have no interest in bootlegging. If I don’t get the license, I won’t be producing HD projects. But I would like to show the prototype to my friends and fellow craftsmen. Hoping HD will not have a problem with that??? But thanks for the forward Barry! Scott

Absolutely beautiful work, Congratulations. But I think you are pushing the Proverbial Up Hill.
Best of luck.

Bob.

Scott, sir, my hat is off to you. You have wonderful talent and skill. This sign is a beautiful piece of work and I pray that Harley Davidson will grant you the license that you seek and that you will become an HD certified artist. No matter what, you are certainly a wonderful artist and will achieve much in your future. May you always be happy in your work.

Great work on this Scott. I don’t see how HD could turn you down after seeing what you are capable of.

Scott after taking a second look at your project and watching your youtube video I think you really deserve some credit as an Artist. Great skill and vision well done. I did not read your statement right first time so did not realize just how big this is… Now I can see just how useful the CNC is. Great use of a whole range of tools and skills….
Back to your application – Good luck with it I think you deserve it. You may find the legal side quite complex .
One problem may be they would wont way to many for you to produce. But you could always create these with Harley Indian style bikes and minus the HD Logos and lots of clubs will buy them !
I was totally in infringement and not considered any implications of branding copyright !
Shame really as UK Harley clubs had liked my work a lot and offered to place an order but I declined as if HD got involved it would not be worth it. create a scene with a couple of low riders heading into the sunset bet they will sell all day all night.
Regards Bazza.
