My shop is rather small and I wanted to find a way to organize my tools, screws and accessories even better. So I decided to build a French cleat system on the wall, with several organizers and holders for various things.

I really wanted the tools and things on the wall to “pop”, so I painted the cleats white.

For the wall I built a series of things to attach to it. First of all, a large screw organizer box to hold all of my metal fasteners. I also built two holders to keep miscellaneous tools in. I built regular shelves, a clamp shelf, a mallet shelf, a shop vac shelf and lots of boxes to keep on the shelves! Of course, all of these things have a cleat attached to the back so they can easily attach to the wall and you can move them around wherever you want them.

I made a video about building the wall cleats, as well as all the things I stored on the wall. Please check it out for a much better perspective on the build.

Looks WAY too neat. I’d be afraid to work in there, might get something dirty! LOL
