This is the compleated armoire that I have been discussing in my blog. It was built by a former student of mine for his high school senior project. Today he waxed the finish and called it done. Well, actually we are still waiting for a latch for the doors to come in the mail, but other than that it’s done. It is built from southern yellow pine that I had cut about 2 years ago. The finish is one coat of shellac, one coat of gel stain, 5 coats of wiping varnish and a coat of finishing wax. Immanuel presents his project this Thursday night at his school.

That is really nice! And the wood will darken over time, becoming even more beautiful!
Great work!
