I made the top and bottom from walnut and the vertical dowels are made from maple. The wire lach was made from 12 ga. copper wire bent in a home made jig attached with brass screws. I attached small casters for easy mobility. This was fun and very usefull project. Maybe I’ll have to buy a few new rods and reels to fill it up.

Hey GS
Welcome to LJs Looks like a cool rod holder. If we could only woodwork and fish at the same time, but last time I tried my table saw sunk the boat. LOL

Welcome to LJ’s GS. Fishing and woodworking there is nothing better. Great job. I like how you did the latches I need to make a similar caddy and I think I will borrow your design. Thanks for sharing

Welcome. Very nicely done. I need to build a rod holder also, just haven’t had the time to get at it. Thanks for sharing.

Jim…sounds like you need a bigger boat! :) I used to build these.only problem now is the footprint to hold all my rods would wipe out most of my shop! I have an addiction to fishing gear (almost as bad as my addicton to jigs…woodworking jigs that is) Nice work like the latches!
