I made this box after reading Lois Ventura’s book on bandsaw boxes. I wanted to make something that looked appealing – made people want to “pet” it. I also wanted to add a bit of humor.
Fun to make. I ended up making a series of boxes that I think of as my “critter” series. I’ll post others later.
Thanks for looking.

Well done, Kate!
I see these and it reminds me that I really want a full-sized bandsaw.

Kate – very nice – I like the design. What wood did you use? And how big is this box?

Thanks for the comments, everyone.
The box is cherry and walnut. It’s around 11” high.
I have directions for how to make a simplified version on my website if anyone is interested. http://www.wooden-box-maker.com/making-bandsaw-boxes.html

Kate,
Beautiful box! The colors of the wood add a rich texture to the box.
I can see the whimsy in it too!
