This is a set of bookcases that I built in June 2005. It is a design that a customer saw and wanted them in a specific size. They only wanted one but the cost to design and build was so high for just one, I built another at the same time for display.
It was built from maple plywood and edge banded on both sides, so these could be used in the middle of a room if needed. I used a dye coat, then a stain coat follow by a couple coats of lacquer.
There was a lot of pieces and a lot of labor time involved in such a simple looking bookcase.
Here is the only buildilng picture I could find in my online archive:

Chris,
How did you attache the horizontal and vertical pieces to the sides and to each box unit.
Did you use dados or did you use dowels or thru screws?
Very nice set of book cases and I can see how this would be a very labor intensive project.
-- Gene Miller - it only took me 3 days 9 hours and 28 minutes to get that top flat!

Gene, they were just butt joints nailed together. I may have pocket screwed some of the shelves. I built these almost 4 years ago. It’s hard to remember.
