How fun it is playing Mexican Train Dominos with a big group! But…if you’ve ever played with more than 8 people, you know the hub that comes with the game isn’t big enough. At first, I thought I would just build a bigger hub, to accommodate twelve people. But then I came up with this design, that will hold all the dominos AND the lid can be used as the hub for up to 12 people. I know we are going to have a lot of fun with this.

Here is a link to the video of the project. I will post plans for this box on my website within the next day or so.

Looks cool! However, I do see one flaw, but it has nothing to do with the construction. Mexican train with 12 people would take FOREVER!!! Lol. Hope you enjoy it

Matt, it does take a while! Almost as long as it would take to build another one of these boxes. I’ve never built a second one of anything, but I’m thinking I might build another one of these. Maybe out of 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick wood instead of 1/4 inch.

Thanks Dan’um style. I looked at some of your projects (I always do when I get any comment) – very impressive. I love Arts & Crafts style and you do it justice for sure.

Logan – Thanks sir. Yeah, I like how the lid came out. I would like to try oak and walnut, like the coffee table you built, they look so great together.

My wife and I play Mexican Dominoes with my son in law and my daughter all the time. I can’t imagine playing with 12 people. You really did a nice job on this.

Thanks Charles. When we visit my wife’s family, we often have 10+. If you keep it moving, it’s not bad with 10 or 12. My father-in-law asked me to build a hub to accommodate more than 8, so that’s what got me started on this.
