I bought a cheap guitar, pulled off the body and shaped a new one from two blocks of black walnut. Finished with linseed oil and amber shellac. (I reused the existing neck but reshaped it and refinished it). Only drawback is it weighs a ton.

Awesome! I have been doing an LP and an SG in black walnut.

Heavy, perhaps. But it is beautiful
