Potpourrie box. Very nice grained hardwood that sands down to a beautiful natural finish.
The only trouble is i’m not sure of the species, I made the fatal mistake of not writing it down before I made the cut.
A lesson well learned.
I have a feeling it was ‘Bende’.
Finished with wipe on poly.
Only a couple of coats were needed because it sanded down very smoothly.

Nicely made for fitting in the home. My wife has asked me to make one of these for her. Where do you get the tops?

Super pretty, Gman. Do you friction polish with the Wipe-on? I have a bottle of that stuff, and hadn’t thought of using it thusly.

Sam, ain’t it sad mate. Must be part of the growing old process.
Dave, my supplier is Trend Timbers.

Thanks Dan & Roger.
Mark, I haven’t friction polished this one. Sanded 180 through to 400 grit then final sanding with 000 steel wool (that is a big clue to getting a polished finish), then wipeon poly with a soft cloth.
Pete, the wife got this one.
