Yesterday I completed the table my wife asked me to build after seeing the night stands. She wanted something to put plants on so they will receive light from the front window. I built this table out of Red Oak, and loosely based it on plans I got from WoodSmith “Craftsman Library Table.” I altered the plans to make the table smaller so it will fit in our living room window and most of all to fit within my skill set LOL. I intended to put in a deep drawer, but after starting construction changed my mind, so the aprons are a little wider than I would have done. I attempted to use real through tenon but had problems cutting the mortise. I decided to switch back to the false through tenon the plan called for.

Great job. My wife would love to have one like that too. You did a really nice job on it.

Nothing so beautiful as simplicity: it is so complicate to achieve it. I like your plantstand. Keep on making sawdust, as you could see, there are beautiful things in it.
