Here is another of my ‘Heck, Gimme that picture; I’ll build it’ projects. My wife showed me a catalog and into the shop I went. Using simple pine and no better picture than you have here, out came a Golden Retriever planter. Here is ‘Goldie’ next to his favorite hydrant. He takes in water but never needs to be taken fgor a walk.

i only see 3 legs—-is one up taking care of business??? I love the idea—-that design could be used for a lot of different designs…cool…

The only thing that would make this perfect is if, when you water the plant in it, it drains like the dog was….well you know…

Charlie, Great idea…. all it takes is a drill. Funny thing is that I had the hydrant several years before making the dog but while I was constructing it I knew then exactly where I would put it, next to my all-American hydrant… and it is a real one, heavy as the dickens.
