Project Information

Hi Guys,

It has been a while since I did any woodworking, I have been busy updating an old bathroom suite to a shower stall ready for guests that are arriving next week .
The last thing to be made was a cabinet, I stole the design from a Georgian cabinet I saw in an antique shop in England.
The wood is African mahogany and I can see why it is cheap, I don't think I have ever worked with wood that has so much interlocking grain, I would be planing with (what I thought was ) the grain quite nicely when all of a sudden I would have tear out ,the only way I could satisfactory get a good finish was by using a card file and I used it constantly.
The panel door are book matched crotch mahogany and the top is Carrera marble.
I am sorry the pictures are not very good, it is only a small bathroom and I could not stand back far enough to get a decent shot . ( that's my excuse anyway).

Thanks for looking
Keith

Very nice Kieth, good to have you back.
I like the matches, kind of like bouquets.

Beautiful bathroom cabinet! Despite that it's a pain to work with, that mahogany looks great-I hope your guests appreciate it!

Hi Keith,
Very nice work. I really like the book match and the way you did the frame and panel construction on the doors. Well done!
