I have recently run across an outstanding source for wood for carving and bandsaw boxes. This guy lives in the Upper Peninsula of Mi. He has sent me several burls, a piece of crotch cherry and some blanks. He has access to all kinds of wood. He is currently out of work. He like lots of others worked in support of the auto industry. He has been quick in his shipments and I have received no surprises. In the photo you can see examples of willow, spalted maple, poplar and a cherry burl blank. I was excited to find this source of wood and wanted to pass it along to other Lumberjocks. I am passing his email along to you in case you want to contact him. If you want larger pieces, he may be able to supply those. I just wanted the smaller ones. The largest I got was around 21 inches long and 13 inches wide. The came sealed in Anchorseal.
