Table on our deck Table on our deck Table on our deck Click the pictures to enlarge them

Yesterday we went to our cabin to prepare it for the summer.

By the way today is the first day of summer, it was 38 degrees this morning, refreshing from last weeks heatwave.

When I set up the table, I remembered I hadn’t shown this as a project yet, so I took a few pictures.

You’ll notice deck winds around one of our big Norway Pines.

I welded a couple of brackets that fit snugly over the two 2”x 4” legs, which makes it easy to take down, & setup.

The table is Glued up White Oak, Black Walnut, With a Marine Spar Varnish, & Caranuba Wax.

Man Dick what a beautiful place to have lunch. You gotter made old timer. I’m extremely jealous although I know you’ve worked hard your whole life to attain such wealth. By wealth, I don’t necessarily mean money, to me a picture like that table setting shows much wealth. I probably appreciate it more than most because I love that country. To me its heaven. your bud, mike

Really beautiful. Do you take the legs of the table down too or do they stay up?

Realy nice combination of woods – very striking. I like the way you preserved the tree and worked with it to add a really unusual, but intresting feature.

and what would you look at while sitting there? The beauty of the table? The carvings in the bench backs? The beautiful trees? The lovely buildings? The rest of the environment?? !!!

The charm and spirit of the setting is endless.

After we move out there, we’ll keep an eye out for all of you.

A friend of mine had had a neighbor by his cabin, that used to fly to Hibbing from Massachusetts in his private jet, & then hop in his seaplane to his cabin.

It only took him 4 hours, just for the weekend. That’s living pretty fast.

sounds like fun. I’ll bring the Shreddies or some other Canadian treasure that you can’t get there… I was going to say “down there” but I think you are quite a few degrees latitude further north than I am!!

That is a great setup and great looking table. A couple of your benches made to match and removable would be wild. Of course, then you would need enough storage to have a place to keep them till next summer. 38 degrees! We start the mornings in the 70’s to 80’s here. Send some of that cold air my way, Dick.
