I feel ya with the unfinished project. I still have some doors for an entertainment centre on my workbench. They’ve been in 95% completion for 3 months and I haven’t installed them yet.

I think I’ve got you all beat for unfinished projects. I’ve had the parts for a desktop organizer done for at least 3 years – still waiting for glue, let alone finish; screen door – needs the joinery for the rails and stiles completed – has been in this state for nearly 6 years; sanding table similar status – 5 or 6 years… I could go on but this is depressing me. I need about a month of solid time in the shop.

Oh well, back to work :-(

Nice almost clock, Mike.

Or is it a case of Time Standing Still? In any event, great work… Now, do you have a mantel on which to set this artwork? If not, I’ll share a plan or two.

I win, I win!

5-6 years ago, I made a simple kitchen drawer organizer with 4 sides with matching dados for dividers. Simple enough, right? It took me about 15 minutes to make.

Anyway, I never made or attached the bottom; the divider was completely useless since the utensils would always manage to slide under the sides of the thing. Well, we just edged toward getting new kitchen cabinets….don’t you know I got around to cut a bottom out of scrap plywood; I took out the staple gun and attached the bottom and now we have exactly zero escaped utensils. That part took me all of ten minutes.

Of course I finished this in the last weeks before we get a completely different set of kitchen drawers.

Sigh.

Well then you are now on your way to a Marriage Gift.

You do have to let fine wine, bourbon and wood age. No project can be completed with the proper ageing on the wood pieces.

As you can probably guess I have a few of those projects also on the back burner.

haha thats funny isnt it. that most woodworkers have the habit of not finishing things, i think its because i can pick up an unfinished project if im in the mood for where it was last left off…. yah know. why do you?
