Hairy Oak Man Box on the inside

Project by degoose posted 197 days ago 477 views 0 times favorited 14 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Just a few pics of the finished inside of the box.. Purple felt on the bottom and lined with spanish cedar on the sides[this is to cover the rough cut of the felt lol]. Brass butt hinges morticed in [ had a bit of a problem here..was drillng a pilot hole and the drill moved ..ok it was my hand that moved and the wood border of the top split..kinda fixed it but not entirely happy] and a small gold colored chain to hold the lid open.
Little cork feet on the base to protect furniture.

Great job Larry! The good ones cover their mistakes without a trace! I’m not that good yet!

Eddy, Spanish cedar inserts are 1/4”” and yes I made the centre “Lazy Larry” not the barrel The surrounding table is very simple I will post some pics tonight. I am on my way the pretend job as I type.
Bowyer,
Purple is a royal color used but kings and queens for centuries.
Spanky not without a trace I can still see the mistakes like the proverbial ‘dog’s ..’
Matt,
glad you like my hairy oak.,
Jim, I shaved.
Charles,
thanks for the constant encouragement.

Are you going to be posting this project again or is this the last time? I usually like to make only one comment per project. If you want to learn how to post more than six pictures and do it all in one posting, send me a message and I’ll help you out. Thanks.

Sorry I wont let that happen again,.. I will just post each project once. and embed any further pics in my comments. Didn’t mean to upset you. It’s not as if I have to post twice. I just did.

Larry , How dare you double post your project ? I believe that it is a sin to do such a thing here on LJ’s….Oh , wait a minute …I think Martin still owns Lumberjocks….Don’t worry about anything until you hear directly from Martin : )
