Second day on lumberjocks, what a great web site. I enjoy looking at all the projects, and I have found inspiration for a few new ones of my own.

I appreciate the friendly response I receved from my first post and thought I would post another of my projects. This cabinet was inspired by an 18th century Chinese linen cabinet I saw on the Internet.

That looks great! What type of wood is that? Are the door panels carved wood or is that some other material; I can’t tell from the pictures. Either way, I like it.

The wood is oak, my wife likes very dark finishes so I tinkered with stains and colored poly to get the finish. The inserts are cast iron wall hangings that I found at Kirklands. I actually incorporated the frames they came in into the doors.

Outstanding piece. I’m also partial to darker stains and this finish is really beautiful, very Mahogany like.
Thanks for sharing.

It is a fine piece of woodworking, and also a great job of bringing together the panels and ahrdware to get the look you were going for.

Fantastic!

That piece would be the prime eye catcher in any home. I sure admire your resourcefulness and creativity with the hardware and the door inserts. Looking forward to more!

I’m getting the big head here, thanks for the nice comments. I am very impressed with all of the projects I have seen. I am now inspired to get a lathe and work towards acheiving bowl making skills.

Great to be here!
