This is a more slender style of cane made for a lady or gentleman as a “stepping out” cane. The handle is made of Amboyna Burl and the longer end flairs out a bit like a flower. I wanted to give it a more whimsical shape than my normal fat handled styles. The shaft is made of Padouk, a very hard and dense wood that gives this some weight.

good looking piece … is the handle shape an original design-thought-idea of yours or was it inspired by something else. ?
very creative
what is the construction between the pieces ? loose tenon ? how do you make those features ?

Thank you for the nice comments. The piece is this shape because that’s what the piece of wood I cut it from is shaped like. Very limiting, but I managed to use every centimeter available.

Thanks Dan, mmh, that was cool. Love your shave bench! Have not seen a curved spoke shave before either. Shows how much I have to learn. Great setup you have there, very cool.
