Nice stringed instrument hanger! How did you fasten “U” to back-plate? Screws? Mortise-Tenon? What is your “up” angle?

Thank you. I think it was 30 degree angle. I used screws and a little glue for joinery – it doesn’t require strength of mortise-tendon.
