I had some very pretty Narra that I wanted to work with. I wanted to do something different that was not based on another design. I got out the grid paper and fiddled for a while. I finally decided on this pattern. It was the first time through for it so there are some things I would do a little differently. A little better arcing on the drawer tops and more natural flow to the top are the first couple things that come to mind.
When I got to the point of the pulls for the drawers, anything horizontal I tried just ended up looking like eyebrows. When I tried vertical pulls (maple) it seemed to blend a little better. It also helped me with the name. I thought the finished product ended up looking like an extreme miniature of a wardrobe.
I ended up liking the Narra and will put it to use again. I flocked the drawers with wine colored fibers. The box is 5 1/2” tall, 7 1/2” wide and 5” deep. I used a natural stain but a semi-gloss poly as opposed to the gloss I usually put to use.

Really like that. You should do some more of your own design. That’s my favorite so far. Sure be glad when I have some time to do some more.

Narra is a beautiful wood! I’m currently making some speaker enclosures out of Narra. If I could find a way to easily post a picture which is stored on MY computer I would post it here. I live where Narra is the National Tree and obtained about 50 bd-ft of which the first project is the speaker set. You have done a nice job. I find it a nice wood to work with.

Check out my Narra speaker enclosures at wmodavis.blogspot.com. Not the quality of creative design as Durnik’s – just another example of the beautiful Narra I spoke of above. Wish I had that design ability.

Bill, those speaker enclosures are stunning!! Just because you used a plan to build them doesn’t take away from their beauty one bit. Thank you for the compliment but I humbly bow to the master!! Bow bow bow bow.
