Hi again.

I have tried to make some inlays.
The result is not bad for the first time I think.
Most of the work was to make the jig for all. The pen is from Garden trees from a friend of mine and I really don’t know what it is. They came out really good and the tree was not of the soft kind.

Looking forward for my holiday in June to the States and hope to find many wood workers on my trip! Would love to chat and see how things are made. The world is so much bigger on this in theStates then here in Norway.

Nicely done. What material did you use for the lower barrels of the two pens on the right of the picture?

Hi
The yellow is a small garden tree – name I have no idea!! The below is a small pice of wood I found on day – I think it was from a knot – name? No clue.
The one most right is only done from for us a small low level trash tree. If the branches is growing slowely it become hard and it can contain lovely variation. The color is just ink so the green. After it was made I use a wheel where I hold the pen to get better grip. The I sanded it down to 320 grid – as is my finest grid. I can’t buy anything here I live finer then that. Then I used the ink. And just after that I used sanding sealer. Two times- then I used laquer two times. Nothing more.
I will be buying me some CA in USA while I am there so I can try what you guys is doing it when I am home again. I’ll stay 4 weeks so it is plenty of time to find this stuff. For us here the CA is 7 to 10 times more expencive then in the States.
