My mom has been searching for a church pew for a long time for her basement entryway. After hearing about it over and over I decided to just make her one out of some walnut and cherry that I picked up at an auction a few months ago. Still needs a couple more coats of linseed oil.

Looks authentic.

You just need a couple of hymnals to make it complete!

That’s a beautiful piece and looks like a real antique. Nice work.

Thanks everyone. Anyone know how to rotate pics on here? This is my first post and can’t find an option (if there is one).

Some people say that if you edit the pic on the PC and write it back out, it will be fixed. I believe the problem is that some camera’s encode an orientation code in the photo file but not all software (including this web site) supports that. So, you want to get it written out straight without an embedded orientation code, since the orientation will be ignored.

This is a really nice bench and a very thoughtful gift!

For pics all I do is create a LJ folder on my desktop and drop the photos in it labelled 1-6 so i know what i want to show first. If it’s landscape and i want it portrait i just open up in Picture Viewer or whatever your default is and rotate and save. When I upload to this site it always uploads as is.
Hope this helps
