iPhone Stand

Project by fooj posted 205 days ago 564 views 4 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This was a quick and dirty project to get my brain back into woodworking thinking mode after a year of inactivity.

I had received a stand made of glass as a gift and was disappointed to find that the iPhone cable didn’t fit in the stand. I said to myself that I could make one myself. Here is the result.

The concept is simple and the actual skill required is low (that didn’t stop me from making mistakes). It was made from S4S pine purchased from a big box store and finished with stain and polyurethane.

You really created a nice look with the pine!

Fooj. Good Design. Well made.Adaptable to any make or model of mobile. If a mobile/cell phone/ what ever you call it, manufacturer made it, it would be plastic. Probably be called a charging or docking station and would cost a fortune.
Well done.

I would like to take credit for the herringbone look of the front and back but that was a mistake. I had planned on making the front cut run parallel with the grain. Did I mention that I have been away from this stuff for a while?

Thanks for the comments.

fooj, All I’ve got to say is what was a nice mistake. Did not even realize it was pine cause of the finished look. Welcome back to woodworking and welcome to LumberJocks.

fooj – very nice! I just made my wife a cell phone stand for her new phone, but I like your design better!
