Well i know technically its not wood…...but i have this outdated sample box of corian countertop material and decided i could either use it for something or throw it away…..Maybe i’ll run into some leather strips and make the nieces and nephews necklaces for Christmas? Hmmmmm

Corian makes great pens if you have a lathe.

I’ve seen some nice corian turnings. The carvings are cool.

I didn’t realize that corian could be carved like this. Could it be scrimshawn also?

This opens up a new door to me for artistic expression and inlay work! Thanks for posting.

I wonder if my dentist knows about this stuff. Might save me some money on the next bridge.

I carved up all my old out dated samples also, I didn’t think of beads, but you sure sparked my wifes interest, since she makes jewelery.

There was an article in one of the carving mags about carving PVC looked very interesting. I just picked some scrap up from a job I was on where they were trimming the windows with it, thought I would give it a try. It seems the carve real easy.

I end up with many pieces of scrap Corian from counter tops, sink cutouts etc… I use them everywhere, throats in my wood planes , small trays to for my water stones, neat stuff. But I had never thought to use it in this way. I really like this!
