This is my first bandsaw box that I made a in the summer of 2013 as part of an introductory class. I chose to make this in the shape of a puzzle piece thinking that maybe at some point I would be able to make others as part of a set. The top lifts off to allow you to store things inside.

The tops were my first project on the lathe and I was able to experiment with a couple of different designs and tools to create these shapes.

What a great idea for a BS box. I have made so many designs over the years for the boxes, but never thought of this. I have a few Grandkids that just might like one. Thanks for sharing your idea. did you hinge the top or just lift off, and did you cut the complete center or partitions? Inside picture would be great if you have one

Thanks everyone. Hawaiilad, the top just lifts off. I thought about making partitions but ended up just making one larger compartment. I added a picture of the interior
