Here is another Inlay / Marquetry Project from last weeks vacation time.

4”x4”

Woods used:

Frame; Jatoba ? cut offs

Background; more unknown wood used on other projects ( love re-sawing, still have 2 more slices of this 6”x10”x1/8” )

Mane; Wenge cut offs

Face and Body; Believe it or not ….More Pallet Wood! This was the only board on this pallet that was not pine. It is cracked all over. I had to glue a piece together in order to do the body section. The board was 3”x1/2”x42”. Had 14 nails. Most of wich were cut off and the board re-nailed to the pallet I found it on. Probably why it was so cracked, it is HARD!
Any ideas on species? ( one of the joys of scrap wood….you rarely know what you are useing!)

Please leave all comments and critiques. I hope these are getting better! haha :-)

Thank You for looking

Scrappy
