Needed a chess board. Made these two. One from purple hart and maple, the other from walnut and maple. Both have oak boarders with strips on purple hart. walnut. maple and wenge for accent.

Nice boards, I’ve been wanting to make one, haven’t play chess in forever but I think my wife would want to stick to checkers haha. Where can you get the pieces that are cheap looking stuff?

Gorgeous work. I’m especially fond of the maple/walnut combination. Thanks for sharing.

I love it. Beautiful work. I also started one made from Avonite polyester solid surface wrapped in white ash
