Zebrawood and Etched Glass Mirror - Bird

Project by wormhole posted 188 days ago 503 views 6 times favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Simple Zebrawood frame with white dyed wood inlay transitioning into acid etched glass mirror. Nothing too fancy; just cut and glued up the wood for best matching grain direction, biscuits used to help corner joints, shellac and wipe on satin varnish.

This is just wonderful, may I ask you how you etched the mirror ?

I understand you used acid but which type and where did you buy it ?
And for the patterning, how did you mask out the non-etched area ?

Thanks a lot for sharing

thanks all for the nice comments.
It’s called etching cream, and you should be able to get it a hobby/craft store. We used some vinyl/adhesive shelf liner as the mask.
