2 woodworking projects for my beautiful girl’s wedding and shameless sharing of one of the proudest moments of my life.

The cross is very simple half lapped with a wedged tenon through mortised into the half lapped base and painted white with a teal chalky base. The bridal arch/doors are a simple 2×6 frame with a palletwood stop that is distressed and stained a “Weathered Gray.” The doors are mismatched 28” and very distressed per the bride’s wishes, then I built a simple pallet wood flower box that fit across the top which my other daughter painted with “Here Comes the Bride” on one side and “Happily Ever After” on the other and then I lacquered over it. The flower arrangement turned out great!

On a personal note in addition to woodworking props for the outdoor wedding I also got to walk her down the aisle and give her away to an awesome new son! Oh, and I also performed the ceremony… I’m tired now… (and broke!)

Boy do I know the feeling! I have built doors (similar to yours, but four-panel and painted white), a barnwood podium (for the minister), two barnwood tables (for supporting margarita mix and wine), a pallet bar, two barnwood cooler enclosures (for ice) and all kinds of spruce-up-the-yard projects. All for my daughters wedding we are hosting on July 25. It’s been alot of fun. What father wouldn’t do this sort of thing for their little girl?

BTW I’m building a pair of QSWO sideboards as wedding gifts for my daughter and for my son, who was married in June.

Good work, dad.

Thanks Ron!! Yeah… I built her a semi-rustic coffee table in a prior LBJ project for an early gift since I knew I would be doing these plus a redwood rounds tiered cupcake tray that isn’t posted yet! God bless your kids as well in their new life!
