I made this table for my dining room. Its a 2” thick slab of red oak with the base being made of 3×4 oak runners from pallets. The bench is a white oak slab that had a bit of a cup already to it (perfect for sitting comfort) and used the same base design. The red oak slab was originally 9’2” long and 43” wide at widest section. It’s now only 6’6” long as that’s all I could fit in my space. Used linseed oil and a Watco finishing wax for the top and just the linseed oil on the bench and bases. This was my first bit table and bench and have the next slab in the tree to make another one soon.

I really like the butterfly inlays on the table.
Well done.

Nice job. The red oak looks good and the table and bench go together well.
I’ve got a few red oak slabs myself. Will do a project someday.
