As you can see in my projects, I like to do a lot of boxes! So far I have yet to get tired of them. On this particular piece I was trying to do the opposite of most bandsaw boxes. Usually the body of the box has pieces removed from within it. In this case the drawer lid encompasses the box on three sides. The lid must be slid off to the back if you wish to remove it.

I was shooting for a little more mushroomy look but I think I will have to try again to really get that impression.

My usual natural stain and 3 coats of poly account for the finish. The drawers are lined with black flocking.

Now, that is out of the box thinking (pun intended :-)) ) The top slides off instead of the drawer pulling out.

This is beautiful. I would like to try this style for my first box. Thanks for the idea.
