For my first wood turning project after a refurb of dad’s old lathe I decided to do something that would help my little buddy at dinner time. He’s 9 years old and I figured this would make things easier on his shoulders at meal time. It’s turned from hackberry and finished with 3 coats of tung oil. I wanted it to be fancier but due to some lathe problems this was as good as I could get. Ole Max likes it that’s what counts. It’s 8” tall and 6.5” in diameter.

Nice of you to think of Ole max in his “Golden years” :-)) Looks like a first class dog feeder to me!

This is a really nice touch for your old guy. It really does help to get the bowls up off the floor for them, particularly the larger breeds. It makes me sort of ashamed of the store bought table my good ole boy is using, maybe I’ll see what I can do to give him a little more style. He’s a bit sloppy – it’ll need a waterproof finish ;-]
