My neighbor had asked me to make fifty small stands to hold laminated photographs to be given to the fifty guests of her husband’s birthday party. I found a 5BF 3/4” padauk board at a local lumber store—about what fifty small stands would take, plus, after resawing from 3/4 to 1/2”, I ended up with some 1/8” thick leftover boards that would make nice veneer. The stands are 6-1/2” × 1-1/2” × 1/2”. The cutting and routing took a couple of hours; just finished sanding them and am ready to hand them over to the neighbor. She will spray coat them with clear shellac. She is happy with the outcome and I hope the guests will like them too.
