This project started during the week when my wife came to me with a request: “Honey can you ….......”
Her friend mentioned to her that a mini ironing board that can stand on top of a table is quite convenient when you make clothes, which my wife and her friend likes to do. She Googled it and showed me a few pictures and used her hands to indicate how long and wide it should be (quite exact measurements :) )
I drew up a SketchUp plan (my woodworking planning has become so much easier since I discovered SketchUp) which can be downloaded over here. My other SketchUp models are available over here for those who are interested.
I used an old veneered press wood cupboard door. The first two pics were before varnishing. I did not worry too much about making the finish perfect as my wife is going to cover it with an ironing board cover which will cover most of the woodworking. For this project function is more important than looks.
This was a quick Saturday afternoon project.
