My Granddaughter was featured in a short article in ScrollSaw Woodworking & Crafts magazine issue 54. Also in the magazine was this butterfly box. She fell in love with it and has been bugging me for months to help her make it. So, this past week we spent some time in the shop and made her butterfly box. She is so excited to put her jewelry in it. She did some of the scrolling and helped with the glue ups and some sanding. The woods are poplar, purple heart, hickory, cherry, walnut and koa. Finished with several coats of spray lacquer.

I love butterfly’s as you may have noticed .
This Butterfly box is a treasure and your Granddaughter will cherish this forever and it’s great that both of you worked on this together .
You should somehow include a copy of the magazine article which down the road will make a nice memento to look at.

Gorgeous piece WW! 75 years from now she’ll be telling her grand daughter of the week she spent with Grandpa. Priceless.
