Wow, these are amazing. Beautiful work. You really capture the sense of these cats. I love the last one sleeping on the branch, makes me relax just looking at it.

Thanks for posting.

roselle, you are a true artist and obviously very skillful with a scroll saw. Your projects look great. I would really like to see more information about your projects. What kind of saw you use, blades, type of wood, how long it took you to complete a piece….... etc. I’ve tried several times but don’t seem to have the patience to work with a scroll saw. Maybe you could even give a few pointers for people like me that just can’t seem to get the hang of using a scroll saw, Again, great work. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Roselle,

Wonderful looking scroll work. I really wish I had the patience. Your detail is what does it for me.

hi, thank you for the comment. i just have this fascination with cats, they are such beautiful animals.

i use 3/4 thick acacia wood. the frame of the sleeping cat on the log measures 26 in x 20. i scrollsawed that piece a total of 65 hours, not including the sanding, spraying finish, the black backing and the frame.

blades? i find the flying dutchman dependable in doing all of my work. i use a spiral blade FD-NS No 3 for all of my scrollwork.

yes, it does give me a sore back and neck if i do it for a number of hours. i have lessened that chance of having a sore back, as i do scrollwork when i dont have patients. sometimes i do 30 min scrolling then back to the clinic for my patients then another 20 minutes depending on the time im free after attending to my patients. its one of the ways i can relax and it does give me a great sense of satisfaction seeing my finish project.
