Shirts and ties are nice. Nah, ties aint nice. You wear em for work or funerals. So I made myself a fathers day gift on this rainy fathers day. Cut from American ebony I added a small star ruby i got on ebay and its ready to go. Never set foot into a jewelry store lol. Too bad using a flash removed the mini star effect on the ruby. I may make another with a darker saphire and leave the white sapwood on, so it can contrast. once again, a saw, a drill, a sander and some spray lacquer is all one needs to make some wooden jewelry.

This is very nice! I like the ruby & finish. What is American Ebony? When I think of Ebony, I picture the dark hard wood from Africa. Great project!
