My neighbor asked me to build a set of steps for her dog to get up on the bed as the dog is getting older and having a hard time. I came up with these. If you bolt the legs on (which I did not) they could be made to fold up inside the steps and the steps could then be stored under the bed. They are made of pine and covered with scrap carpet I had left over from a carpet job. used router to cut dados for steps and all joints were glued and fastened with brad nails. Finished with just spray lacquer.

We have a Daschund and as she got older we worried about her hurting her back trying to jump up on the bed. I made a ramp and now she’s happier and so are we.
Good on you for helping your neighbor (and her dog! )
Nice steps

I think this type of project is why we are woodworkers..we can help our 4 legged and 2 legged friends. the carpet is a terrific idea..easy for pup feet!

Nice job I like the arch in the design looks really close to the set I made for my best friend fuzzy butt. I used pine for the stringers and mdf from a relatives cheap dresser that broke I think it’s way better than paying for a cheap set at the pet store.
