The Cross of Christ

I was asked what could be done to my churches wooden cross that had twisted. We can’t have Jesus twisted on the cross, that will not due at all. So I went and got a bunch of 2” x 6” construction lumber. I planed it down to get the correct size to laminate three of them together…. I used a dewalt DW735 and set up some extended guided to keep the boards flat. I used a porter cable biscuit jointer to put a few bisquits in to align the boards and not let them slide around. I had to borrow some clamps, they turned out to be Jet parallel clamps…. and Yeah, parallel clamps are now on on my list of want,,, some day….. The Foot rest is notched in, and I used Pocket screws to mount it while the glue dried.

I had some help at the end with the Torch finish (charlie Jones) and installing the hardware (Pastor Ernie Gafkjen). It is a joy to work with these guys.
