Sorry for the mass uploads today… Just haven’t been posting lately, needed to catch up.

Here’s a custom knife block I made in the Fall for my kitchen. I custom cut the slots to fit the knives I had, or knew I was getting. I am a Chef by day, so I wanted to make this an extra nice feature of my kitchen. The block is dovetailed walnut and Cherry sides with walnut trim. I still consider myself an amateur, as I have only been doing finer woodworking for a couple years now. I did find out, during this build, why I never see any dovetails on edges of boards, only on ends. Lesson learned, but I did make it work, just needed extra care… And a smidge of filler…

One of the best knife blocks here. Otstanding design and wood combination.

Excellent! I need one, (or at least I think the wife does) How did you cut the slots?

Edit: Oh, I see. Very cool.

Have your say...
