First off I must apologize for the orientation of the pictures no matter what I try, posting them from my iPad they always rotate.

My wife is a kick decorator/Baker by train about a year ago I made her a cupcake stand the last one pictured with the pink ribbon it was three-quarter ply painted with a 1 inch dowel going through the middle screwed by each board. It worked out well butbut it was a little unsteady. This weekend she had an order for a wedding cake along with 250 cupcakes. The original stand only held about 50 to 75. With that in mind she also wanted something easy to clean and usually we attach ribbon around the edging to make it a little more fancy.

So I started with some three-quarter melamine a full sheet ripped it down to my largest tear and then made my smaller tears approximately 5 inches smaller Then the lower one. I edge banded with melamine. Then the lower one. I edge banded with melamine. Then centered each tier on its lower counter part marking the holes for the dowels which I cut at 5 1/2 inches. I marked off for evenly spaced centered holes and drilled with a Forstner bit a quarter inch deep. which I cut at 5 1/2 inches. I marked off for evenly spaced centered holes and drilled with a Forstner bit a quarter inch deep. The top-tier only got one towel because it only holds a few cupcakes or a small cake and I was going to sufficient. I can add tears as needed to make it taller to fit more cupcakes. All in all I think it came out very well my wife is very pleased

Good job. I’ll be making (a round)one for 100 cup cakes before September.
