Project Information

Can either be a Lap Desk, Small Kitchen Office, or whatever one needs. There is a pen/pencil holder on the inside, with grooves to hold four. Back of the lid is a Live Edge Maple, main lid is Curly Maple. Walnut plugs to hold the upper lid.

Main lid has two knots in the field. There is a narrow add on strip to the front edge, also curly maple. Front corners are dovetailed by hand. Back corners are simple butt end to a rebate side. Bottom is 1/4" Oak plywood. It sits in a 1/4×1/4" groove all the way around.

Four coats of oil finsih have been wiped on….and soaked right in. Will be getting a few more coats later.

Sizes? Counting the overlap of the lid, across the front is 18-1/4". Height in the back:6-5/8" front to rear of the sides of the case: 14-3/4"

Started out with just the lid as a starting point, all else came from what wood was on hand. No written plan was used….

The live edge piece on top is a great touch, Bandit! How much does it weigh? Thanks for sharing.
